Posted by Sarah in The continuation and second series of the original animated TV anime “Naruto” is Naruto: Shippuuden.
The story revolves around a much older Naruto Uzumaki, as he returns home after two and a half years, to his village of Konoha. Naruto finds that everyone has been promoted up the ninja ranks, except him. Sukura Haruno, Naruto’s long time teammate and friend, has honed her skills as an expert medical ninja, which has made her more confident mentally and polished her ti-jutsu to become stronger physically. Gaara, a once feared opponent of Naruto and his village, changed his ways and is now the trusted and honored Kazecage of the Village Hidden in the Sand. Like Naruto, Gaara has a Spirit inside him, the one-tailed Sukaku.
Naruto’s dreams of becoming the next Hokage are side-tracked when he realizes that Sasuke Uchiha has not returned from his training with Orochimaru. He sincerely believed that Sasuke would be compelled to return, but found that as time ran out, he had to do something to bring Sasuke back.
Once one of the legendary Three Ninja at the Hidden Leaf Village, Orochimaru has become bitter from many events and seeks eternal life and a world full of chaos. Sasuke turns to the evil Orochimaru for power to avenge his brother Itachi for destroying their entire clan. Now Naruto must go out to save his long time teammate, friend and rival Sasuke Uchiha from the clutches of Orochimaru. First he must face the Akatsuki a mysterious group of S-ranked criminals from various countries, which are targeting Naruto’s Nine-Tail Fox Spirit inside him. As Naruto finds out more about the Akatsuki’s goals, he realizes that nothing in his universe is at it seems.
